@Tim, thank you for your feedback! I’d love to hear more of your thoughts on why building a new screen reader may be unwise.
I actually presented at LightHouse labs a few months ago, but I didn’t have a prototype to show them yet. I totally agree that getting the Lab’s feedback will be critical.
One clarification:
our goal is to ultimately build a universally-accessible interface that can run on any device using the same control scheme.
However, we must absolutely consider the needs of users entrenched in existing solutions. Perhaps the best solution is to create the new platform (we’re pretty far along :)) AND offer an NVDA extension.
