[Nfbc-sj] response requested: riding the bus?

Good morning,

I just wanted to share some information I found regarding the shuttle to
the hotel from LAX. Outside on the arrivals (lower) level at LAX actually
looks like a pretty similar layout to SFO. There are two loops of traffic
both going counterclockwise through the horse shoe shaped layout of
terminals. The loops look to be four lanes each, and they're separated by a
mostly continuous island. The shuttle stops are located on the island. In
front of each terminal there is at least one crosswalk that goes out to the
island, and then continues from the island to a center located parking
garage. The exact location of the hotels shuttle stop varies, but is
always very close to a crosswalk. At some it is to the right from the
crosswalk and at others it is to the left. There are also separate shuttle
stops for the terminal circulator bus and long distance buses. The hotel
shuttle stop is designated as the red stop. I'm asuming there will be no
shortage of people around out there to ask which stop is which.

The hotels shuttle stop is general for all hotel shuttles. What I have done
in the past to make sure the shuttle I want stops is call the hotel and let
them know which terminal I'm in front of, that I am blind and have a white
cane, and that I'm wanting their shuttle. They should then be able to
notify the shuttle driver that you're waiting for them so they look for you
instead of assuming you're looking for them.

For those flying on Southwest or any other airline that uses terminal 1,
there are two crosswalks in front of the terminal, and the hotels shuttle
stop is located between them.

I hope everyone has a smooth trip in on Thursday,
Kyle
