Hello chapter family!

Happy belated white king day and a very happy blind equality achievement month to everyone! This Saturday, we have a special treat planned for our meeting. Our guest for the meeting will be Katy Dektar, a former colleague of mine from Google Chrome accessibility, and a contributing developer on the open source project, 5Calls. Katy will be talking to us about the 5Calls app, which is available on iOS and android and helps individuals get in touch with their local congressional representatives to discuss the issues that impact their lives. Katy has been working to make five calls more accessible, and to spread the word about how it can help people and organizations push the legislation that is most meaningful and important to them. She will talk to us about how to use five calls and how the NFB of California could partner with the five calls developer on strategies to promote our legislative agenda. 

If you would like to download the app prior to the meeting on Saturday, I strongly encourage it. You could follow along as Katy walks us through some of its use and features. It is available for free in both the Google play store and the iOS App Store.
