[Nfbc-sj] REMINDER: OUR NEXT CHAPTER MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 3PM VIA ZOOM

Hi everyone,
The plan for this month’s meeting is to have a convention recap. If you were in Orlando, please come share stories and news. If you were not in Orlando, come hear what you missed and join in a discussion. The topic of our banquet speech this year was dignity and what it means to be a dignitary. I’d like to continue that discussion with our chapter and discuss what it means for blind people to have dignity, what we do when our dignity is taken from us in various scenarios, and how we advocate for ourselves in a dignified way. 

Just as a preview, next months discussion topic will be on blindness and genetics. Do you have a genetic cause of blindness? What are your thoughts on genetic research intended to eliminate your particular cause of blindness? What about having kids and pop potentially passing on those genes? This topic can get spicy, so we will have moderators in the zoom next month.
