Sorry I have not been able to make the meetings. They are the same day as the SVCB meetings and they are in person every other month. Meeting times right in the middle of the day generally do not work for me.

I really hope I can make the next meeting to meet the new members but it is also the day of the SVCB picnic which is always a fun time.

Members and non-members alike are invited if you want to attend I can connect you with the way to register. I am sorry I did not think of this before, inviting everyone here to that.

The deadline to register is this upcoming Monday, September 11

It is $20 for members and $25 for non-members but I will pay the extra $5 for anyone in this chapter who wants to attend. They are a good group. It will be a BBQ with hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers, drinks. It is all you can eat and there will be a raffle held with a bunch of prizes

Like myself, John Vandervort was also a member of both groups.

When I first became blind I found the CCB chapter through the Blind Center and was told falsehoods about the differences between NFB and ACB. That was a long time ago and they both have a lot to offer, working towards the same goals.

So, I will try to attend the next meeting of our chapter and I hope some of you will consider coming to the SVCB picnic

Hey everyone,

We have a few new members who will hopefully be joining us this Saturday and looking for connections and resources, so please bring all your welcoming energy and community knowledge to our usual meeting place and time!

Speaking of meeting place and time, I would like to make a decision at this months meeting about how and when to start meeting in person. My proposal is that we continue to hold virtual business meetings, but add an in-person social event each month. This is something the San Francisco chapter has been doing and really enjoying. I hope a lot of you can make it next week so you can weigh in on this, because it would be great if we could have our first in person gathering ASAP.
