Hello fellow Chapter members. Our current tag line is:
Live the Life you Want; blindness is not what holds you back.

In cleaning out my home office, I came across the 2007 NFB of California agenda. In that
agenda is the mission statement of the NFB as we promoted it that year. I thought I would
type it in here, since I think it captures, quite well, much of the work we've done over the
years and the work we continue to do as we proceed through Meet the Blind Month, October.

Mission Statement:
The Ultimate Goal of the National Federation of the Blind is the complete integration of the
blind into society on a basis of equality. This objective includes the removal of legal, economic, and
social discrimination and the education of the public to new, and and more accurate concepts
concerning blindness. It means the right of the blind to work along with their sighted peers
in the professions, skilled trades, and regular occupations.
