Hey everyone,

We got a question from someone who called the chapter phone line asking for
assistance traveling from Fremont to UCSF and back for a doctor's
appointment regarding a cornea transplant. It's next Wednesday, June 19.
She is older and become blind about 7 months ago, can really only see
shadows, and has had not had any O&M since losing her vision. She has not
taken BART since losing her vision, does not use a smartphone enough to use
Uber/Lyft, and can't afford a taxi. She wasn't sure the exact time of the
appointment when I called her back but said it's early afternoon like 1:00
or 1:30pm and she would like to leave Fremont around 10am to make sure to
get there on time.

I have class at De Anza that day and I don't believe I can time this
journey around it. Would anyone else be able to help her travel to this
appointment? She said she has also reached out to some other blindness
organizations in the area but has not heard back from any of them. She is
pretty desperate to make the meeting since it could affect her opportunity
to regain some vision. With travel assistance she would also likely be a
willing member of our chapter.

Please let me know if you can help or know someone who can so I can get
back to her soon.

Regards,
Kyle
