For those who might be uncertain about the nature of a white elephant exchange:
A white elephant gift exchange, Yankee swap or Dirty Santa is a party game where amusing, impractical gifts are exchanged during festivities. Usually, the goal of a white elephant gift exchange is to entertain party-goers rather than to gain a genuinely valuable or highly sought-after item.

Subject: [Nfbc-sj] REMINDER: CHAPTER MEETING IS SATURDAY 12/21/2019 AT 3:00PM, CARNEGIE EAST BRANCH SAN JOSE LIBRARY
Hello fellow NFBC chapter members. This is a friendly reminder that our next chapter meeting will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 3:00PM at the East Side Carnegie branch of the San Jose Library in the study room, the same place we've ben meeting for the past few months. The address is posted at the end of this message.
At our last chapter meeting, we agreed to hold a white elephant gift exchange at our december meeting. This gift exchange is completely voluntary and if you don't want to bring a gift for the exchange, that is fine and you should come to the meeting anyway.
If you wish to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift of $15 or less in value to the meeting and we'll put it in the gift exchange pot. The rules for the gift exchange are the following:
1. For each participant, we'll put a card in a bucket with a number on it.
numbered cards will be distributed to those folks participating in the gift exchange.
2. As cards are drawn from the bucket, the person with the matching card number may pick a gift from the unopened pile of gifts or may steal a gift from the gifts still eligible for stealing.
3. Gifts are eligible for stealing up to two times once they're opened.
Once they reach the third recipient, they are frozen and are no longer eligible for stealing.
4. Once all the gifts have been opened, the first person who's card was drawn from the bucket will have a final opportunity to steal an eligible gift, assuming they didn't have their first gift stolen.
We'll also listen to the Presidential Release and discuss what agenda items we'd like to see for next year's meetings.
Looking forward to seeing all of you next week.
Sincerely,
Brian Buhrow, President.
