Hi all. Velvet and I met with Jaquie James,
director and general manager of the Stockton Arena along with Kevin Curin,
director, customer relations. We told them of our experience last Friday
night. It felt like we went through it frame by frame. At one
point, Jaquie said that she had some notes that might be pertinent to the
incident. It seems that Mr. Groban had requested a change in the seating
only 1 hour before people started arriving. This explains why our usher
said that he didn't know where our seats had gone. They really weren't
available any more. This was so that Mr. Groban could pretend to be a
super star. The seats he took out of play were filled with "adoring fans
who threw flowers at him and with little kids who he would sign cds for at
strategic moments in the show.

When we told of the joke made
about buying three seats, one for the dog, Jaquie gasped. The telling of
the story involved the production of paper work on our side and a detailed map
on their side.

At the end of an hour, Jaquie
promised to refund all of our money and Kevin asked if we would be willing to
participate in training for the staff to make sure that this doesn't happen
again. Sometimes it's easy when common sense and the law are on your
side. The refund was a complete surprise, as was the invitation to
attend the circus next month. "This will be a real test as to whether
the staff gets it that people can't just be pushed around like you
were". This was from Kevin. At the end of it all, we shook hands
all around and Jaquie thanked us for taking so much time to explain things in
such detail. "Thanks for not yelling at us. I would have punched
the guy", she said. She even got a kiss from Gulliver. Bye for
now. See you on the telephone.
