Thanks for sharing that blurb about Jenifer and Frank, Tina!
Happened to me and my Guide Dog #Churchill twice in the past
5-weeks. It usually happens far less often, and I've been wondering
what I'm supposed to do as a dog handler? Y'know, I'm not out
goofing around with my dog. We're heading somewhere, places to go,
trains to catch, people to see, etc. The last two dogs took me down
during the attacks, with lots of witnesses. I'll give the person on
the other end of the leash a short lecture, as I'm getting to my
feet, suggest "Dogs for Dummies" as a great book for novice dog
owners, remind them that dogs that attack like that end up in being
taken away and euthanized, so wise-up! etc. Sometimes, I gotta
yell, "Shut Up! Quit saying how sorry you are. I'm trying to save
your dog's life: so listen!"
So ya, should I print-up cards?
Typically, I only have minutes to spare, and doubt that the person on
the other end of the leash is able to understand and absorb
my diatribe, before I turn away and go on with my day.
Churchill seems to take it in stride.
Thanks again, oh and Jennifer just friended #Churchill and me as I
was writing this!
No joke.
