[Cagdu] Cagdu meetings

Hello Tina and Cagdu Board members:

Sunday's work. What's the possibility of meeting an hour later. 6:30 cuts
into the dinner hour and eliminates going out to dinner with friends when
using Sunday public transportation. Thank you.

I'm noticing major stores and our transit company instructs security and bus
drivers to ask the dog handler if the dog is a service dog. They have to
take the person's word if someone says yes. Occasionally, I've had small
high-strung dogs come at my guide dog on the bus and in one store. Both
times I complained and urged the driver and a store security guard to ask
the person to control their dog or ask the dog's handler to leave. The
tables were turned and I was made to be the problem. Misinformed passengers
got on my case. Luckily, these situations are the rare exceptions.

In any event, a whole lot more needs to be done to educate the general
public and business owners about the differences between companion dogs;
therapy dogs and service dogs. I think this can be done through media
campaigns. I would hope the Federation or the NFBC would help to financially
support this public education project. You can count me in to assist.

Best,

Lisa Irving

Subject: [Cagdu] Cagdu meetings

Hello cagdu community: I would like to welcome all of our new members to
cagdu and say hello to our long standing members. Cagdu has been meeting via
conference call since its inception. The cagdu meetings have been and still
remain every second Sunday of the month at 6:30pm. Which leads me to ask all
of you if this is a good time to meet, or would another date and time work
better? Also, the cagdu board would like to hear from the membership as to
what you all would like cagdu to focus on concerning our dogs. Please
respond with your questions and comments.

Thank you.

Your cagdu board
