Velvet's making steady progress with the aid of her physical and occupational therapists. Yesterday, she stood up and walked from the bathroom to the bed assisted only by her cane. The wheel chair and walker were nowhere in evidence. To understand how big this is, the people at the convalescent home had her convinced that she should just resign herself to being wheel chair bound and that she should not even think about living in her home again. At the end of next week, she'll be an outpatient and will be doing her therapy at the clinic 6 blocks away. Drawing tickets will be ordered tomorrow and I'll send some off to Tina, Robert and Roger as soon as possible. There will be 250 tickets for each drawing. I'm sorry this wasn't done sooner, but I had a lot on my plate. Take care everybody. And we'll see you in Oct. Ken and Velvet the Stockton Volontes; not those rowdies who live in the foothills. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... While the new website is under construction the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Disability Branch is working on a new Disability and Medical Condition Awareness Series Initiative. Each month TSA's Disability Branch will focus on a Disability or Medical Condition Awareness Month theme based on identification of disability and medical condition-related awareness days or months in the calendar year. TSA Disability Branch will develop a "What to Expect" publication that provides general information about what to expect in the security screening process if you are an individual with a disability or medical condition. The publications will also include sections on "What to Know" and "What to Remember". The intent of the publications is to help travelers make better informed decisions. Stay tuned on the overhaul of the external Web site. We will continue to develop our external awareness pieces each month. This way they will be ready for posting when the Web site opens again.
