[Cagdu] Flying question: why are the relief areas outside the airports?

Hi Fred and others: First, you make all good points. Last year the Department of Transportation (I think, though it may have been Homeland Security, I can't find my record of it) had a survey soliciting feedback about service animal relief aries at airports. That survey was supposed to contribute to writing policies on animal relief areas. I don't know what the current status is. (For the record, I made a big deal about the need to have areas within the secure area for relieving.) Anyhow, Washington DC's IAD has an indoor relief area complete with fake grass, picket fence, and sprinkler systems for disinfecting the area after use. I think it could serve as an example for other airports. My dog was a bit hesitant, but he got over the weirdness of it all fast enough. Check it out if you ever have time passing through.
