Hello Ken,
I am glad to hear, that Edison is on the mend.
I am also pleased to hear that GDB is informed of all that is
taking place.
Yes, replacing those springs is a good thing, but you may in the
future, always want to double check that the gates are closed, it
will give you peace of mind.
Take care,
Robert Stigile

Subject: [Cagdu] final word on Edison
Hi all. Yesterday we took Edison to a full service animal
hospital just north of Sacramento. They were going to do ultra
sounds, but we already had one. Every test they asked to do, we
had already done. After all the speculation about rat poison and
diaphragmatic holes bruising his liver and I don't know what all,
the worked is, Edison has four broken ribs and will be on the
injured list for about 6 weeks. Dr. Runion advised against
surgery, and Dr. Wong agreed. They upped his pain medication
and said that I shouldn't feel guilty, as I had done all I could
and more. They did offer one caution. "Edison's going to want
to play tugg-a-war in about two weeks. Give him the full six
weeks to just rest". So he's not quite himself, but he offers
everyone a lick and a wagy tale. His ears are down. They look
folded into themselves. The docs say I will know when he's out
of pain because his ears will once again be up and listening.
Thanks for all your thoughts. GDB has been following me through
this whole process Next week, I'm having both gates fitted with
springs so they'll close by themselves. That's all I can do.
Other people have suggested invisible fences, but I don't want
Edison to be afraid of going outside, etc. Thanks for your
support. I'd appreciate calls or posts. My phone is
209-464-6766. Thanks.
