As you may know the Legislative and Policy Review (LPR) Unit tracks all legislation that may affect DCA programs and provides policy analysis to the Administration on all related legislation. This year there are four bills that are identified to have Department wide effects, most significantly Senate Bill 1099 (Wright) that changes the regulation effective dates for all regulations filed with the Secretary of State after December 31, 2012. > > In an effort to ensure that all programs are aware of proposals being discussed in the legislature, LPR will be making some changes to our process this upcoming legislative year. Beginning in January the analyst assigned to work with your program will send out a monthly "legislative alert" that will identify legislation that may affect your program. Additionally, the Director would like to offer LPR's assistance at any Board or Committee meeting to discuss legislative proposals. Some Boards have dedicated staff to manage legislation, however, many medium to smaller programs do not have the resources to track or analyze legislation. LPR would like to assist those programs that need help in presenting information to staff and Board members regarding pending legislation. Please contact my office if you would like us to attend an upcoming board, committee or staff meeting. > > Lastly, staff has been making an effort to contact their respective programs to introduce themselves and offer assistance. If you have not had a chance to connect with your assigned analyst please feel free to call me directly at 574-7808 to set up a time to meet. As always if you have any issues or concerns please don't hesitate to contact us at LPR, or any member of the Executive Team. > > Thanks, > Tracy > > Tracy Rhine > Deputy Director, Legislative and Policy Review Department of Consumer Affairs > 1625 North Market Blvd. S-204 > Sacramento, CA 95834 > P. 916.574.7800 > F. 916.574.8655 > > > > > > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
