H.R. 734 (Rep. Towns) – Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Act

Update: An omnibus bill captured the request for a study to be conducted by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration would in two phases accomplish the following:
1) Whether hybrid vehicles were quieter than other cars.
2) What the minimum sound requirement should be.
The bill will be amended to encourage regulations be adopted with the results of the study in mind – to be followed by car manufacturers for future hybrid vehicles.
