[Cagdu] looking for a new vet

For years, Edison has been under the care of Dr. Jim Walford. Gulliver felt
his skillful hands before that. Dr. Walford's assistant Sandy was always
willing to give advice, especially when we were contemplating the removal of
our cat Peaches' front claws.
A few weeks ago, I got a call from Sandy telling me that Dr. had a mass
on his pancreas. From time to time, I would call the office to see how my
friend Dr. Walford was doing. I didn't know it until just now, but he was my
friend. He and his wife are spending time together. I don't know if Sue
will keep the business open. She's a vet as well, but I think that I'm
faced with the prospect of finding a new vet. I'm not ready. The need is
there, but Jim Walford-- it's a betrayal. I don't know what it really is;
I'm just shocked and angry.
Where do I start looking? My friend Pam, a puppy raiser steered me
away from one doc. That leaves fifteen to call and try to get a sense of
who they are; but I have to say goodbye to Dr. Walford one last time. I'll
make two more calls to the office: one to thank Sandy and the staff for
their working with me, and one to have Edison's records transferred.
Goodbye Jim. Live well the time you have. Know that your work was
stellar and important to all who knew you.
