Wow! Please be careful everyone. My friend had a Pit Bull bite her hands last week. She was walking her dog and the Pit jumped the fence and attacked.

Myself, Mary Rose & odette were at a bus stop when Odette was attacked by a pit bull.

Here is a 20 second link to the news cast.

When it happened I was just sitting at a bus stop on a bench waiting to for the bus to go home.
I felt horrible and did not know what to do. I just let go of the leash and let Odette defend herself. I stayed wit the baby and made sure the dogs did not get near her. I just kept screaming for help. People started getting out of there cars on a very busy street helping. One guy kicked the pit bull so hard it lost its breath for a second which gave Odette a chance to get away and at that very second the bus pulled up and Odette just jumped right inside and so did I with a stroller and all. I felt bad because the stroller was not collapsed and the baby was still inside and I just pulled her in and dragged it up the stairs in the midst of a crowded buss. And here is my dog bloody and soaking wet. Then a lady said she knew of a vet on the bus route and help me get there. Then I had no way home and I had no cane with me. I called john who came and got me and his guide dog Jazz guided me and the baby and himself home.

It was so horrifying hearing my dog crying during the attack. I don't think I can ever get that memory out of my mind. But I am so thankful that it did not turn out worse if it was not for good Samaritans and that bus coming at just the right moment.

Odette was treated with medication for shock and given IV and prepared for surgery. I hope her working life will not be effected by this and she will not have to be retired. She has several bites that entered the skin but one punctured wound where she has muscle and tissue injury.

The police wouldn't help saying it is an animal problem and to call the animal control officer. Well they never answered there phone and later talking to them they said they could not investigated because they did not have an actual address. Very frustrated with these departments.

As of today a few days later she is not quite herself. Sleeps in the corner, doesn't always want to come when called and wants to stay in my bedroom. Her wounds got infected and we are draining and treated it with strong anti biotic. We are treating her with heat treatment on the muscle area that got hurt. it is very swollen and hard. Her whole neck is very swollen. We are also giving her pain medications.

After the news coverage a witness called animal control and identified the dog. The dog is now in custody and they are now looking for the owner and investigating.
