As a customer of your establishment for some little time, I'm
writing
you to ask if you would sponsor me in a three mile march. This march is
being put on by the California Association of Guide Dog Users, and will
occur on May 16.

We are marching to demonstrate to the public that Guide Dogs are an
effective mobility tool for quickly getting safely where we need to go.

We are having such marches in many cities throughout California
from San
Diego to Sacramento.

We would appreciate you sponsorship, as we need to procure
insurance,
water stations, and snacks for our marchers.

At the end of the march, we might go to a restaurant for a fine
brunch,
or we might end up at a Cineplex for a movie; but when the march is
done, we
will all feel a sense of accomplishment and pride, and you will have
been a
part of history.

Your contribution will not end with the march. The California
Association of Guide Dog Users advocates tirelessly for the rights of
blind
people and our guides to be out and and abroad in the world. There are
still incidents of guide dogs being denied access to taxi cabs,
restaurants,
hotels and other places of entertainment. You wouldn't think these
problems
still exist, but it does.

If you can help in this endeavor, please send a check make out to
CAGDU, along with your contact information to: National Federation
of the
Blind of California, 39481 Gallaudet Drive #127, Fremont, CA 94538.

If you have any questions about this event or about the work of
CAGDU,
please contact Ken Volonte, Chairperson at kenvolonte at comcast.net,
or you
can reach him by phone at 209-464-6766. Thank you for sponsoring me.
