Hi all.  Here's the latest report on John Vandervort and Billy.  They're now 
living in San Jose where John can be nearer to his mother.

    As to John's date in small clames court, it's been changed.  There was 
some difficulty serving papers on Mr. Kile, the owner of the pit.  Because 
of this, the court date has been changed to March 4th at 1:30:pm, room b-1. 
Velvet and I will be there to support John.  If others want to come, we'd 
love to see you.  The court house is located at Webber and San Joaquin, just 
three blocks east of the bus station.

    I have a question.  In the event that the defendant doesn't appear, what 
happens then?  I just have a feeling.  Bye for now.  Ken

My wife jumped into instant action.
"It's not a skunk it's mace or pepper spray.
Call the police or animal control"!

The police were out in fifteen minutes;
Even the Sergeant came out.
"That's a skunk", they said and drove away.
They'll talk about this down town for a week.

Hi Leaner.  John had a friend of his try and serve him four times.  We finally went to the county sheriff and the papers were served.  I still have the question I asked earlier.  In an ideal world, if the defendant doesn't show up, the plaintiff would win by default.  I have a feeling that the law isn't that simple.  I also have the feeling that this guy will move away.  Of course, I could be wrong.  Thanks for your support Ilene.  Bye for now.  Ken

You are quit welcome for my and Joe's support. I am glad that the county sheriff served the papers. In a Ideal world, if the defendant doesn't show up the plaintiff ?wins. If the defendant doesn't show up it will be a miss trail. The judge has a say in this. I am hoping this isn't the case at all. I am hoping this helps you out. If the defendant skips town he will pay the price. ?They will look for him and if he could be found. It is up to the judge. Have a great week.?

Hi all.  A group of us met tonight to discuss the paw-a-thon.  We're holding 
it in a number of cities on May 16th.  I've been asked to chair this event. 
John Vandervort is coordinating in San Jose.  Gayle Paulson is doing 
Norwalk/Ventura.  Juliet is covering San Diego.  I'm covering Stockton and 
Robert's handling LA.  If other folks want to organize walks in your locale, 
let us know.  Would either Tiffany or Rocky do Sacramento?

    We need to contact parks and recreation or the police about permits. 
Insurance, as I understand it, is covered under the auspices of the State 
office.  I'm sure that Shannon or Mary will correct me if I'm wrong about
