What? An organizing party to create a local San Jose chapter

When? Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 3:00 PM

Where? King Library, 150 E. San Fernando St., Mezzanine level

Why? To meet other blind people like you

Come join our new chapter and learn about:

  · Scholarship opportunities for visually impaired high school and college students

  · Cool new ways for blind students to participate in science, math and engineering

  · How to access technology, including computers and cell phones

  · Resources for seniors experiencing vision loss

  · Networking opportunities for blind professionals

  · Local resources for blind people in the Bay Area

  · Ways to meet other parents of blind children

What is the National Federation of the Blind (NFB)?

  · The NFB is the largest organization of blind people in the nation and tackles many of the issues that concern blind people on a daily basis.

The NFB passionately believes that it is respectable to be blind and that any blind person can live happily along side their sighted community members.
