This website has links for documents that offer
information and guidelines/warnings for each of the
ingredients that are contained in the flea and tick
products available for dogs and cats. The ingredient
links are labeled to indicate what products contain
each ingredient. 

The US government has issued a warning concerning
widespread availability of counterfeit flea and tick
products. The information given is of limited
practical usefulness for blind consumers. It gives
tips on how to identify counterfeit products by
matching numbers on packaging with numbers on the
applicators, and also by noting certain aspects of the
packaging.
