  Hello Juliet,

We've looked at the shipping and we can't guarantee the delivery will arrive at the hotel on Oct 24 or 25, the two days that look good for you to receive them there. So please send me the alternate shipping address of your other member living in Sacramento. We will ship the boxes of Purina treats to them instead.

  Regards,
  John Sommer

    Hello Juliet,

Thanks for your reply. We can send it to the place holding the convention, as long as they accept and hold shipments like this for you, until your event date. Send me the full address info and anything else we should place on the label, such as "hold for Juliet... State Guide Dog Convention Oct 25-28...etc...". With that info, we should be able to get the Purina Treats boxes there in time for your event in 3+ weeks.

    Regards,
    John Sommer

    Dear John,

I apologize for not responding right away, and thanks, for your generous gift. I was wondering if it would be possible to have the shipment go to the place where we aare holding our convention? The convention will be on October 25th, in Sacramento. If this is not possible I can have the shipping send to a member in Sacramento. Please let me know which is the best way for you, and I will send you the appropriate address.
Once again thanks for supporting us!
Juliet Cody and Marly (my beautiful guide dog)

      Hi Michael,

Just checking in as I have not heard back from Juliet yet regarding a ship to address for the treats, for your group to use in door-prize packages. Hope to hear from you (or Juliet) soon!

      Regards,
      John Sommer

Hi John thanks so much for the help you have provided. Definitely the 2 cases of each product would be great to use in door prizes for this event.
I am forwarding a copy to Juliet the organization President who will provide information on where she needs the prizes shipped.
      We really appreciate your help.
      Best regards
      Michael Peterson

        Dear Michael,

Sorry for the delay in our reply as we examined your website issue. Unfortunately we've determined that we will not be able to modify the Pets for People website at this time to alleviate your access problem.

The good news is Purina can offer some samples for your use as door prizes (or part of a door prize package) with guide dog users at your upcoming events. These would be sample packs of Purina's® Busy Bone® and T-Bonz® dog treat products. Perhaps in combination with other products as a "gift bag" they would make a very nice door prize or several door prizes. We can ship you one or two cases of each, whatever quantity works best for you (and your storage space limitations). The Busy Bone come 30 bones per case and the T-Bonz come with 20 of the 10 ounce pouches per case.

We could get these shipped out to you in our next shipment round, we just need a shipping address from you.

I look forward to your reply,

        John Sommer

        Dear Michael,

Thanks for your feedback regarding our website accessibility and your problem with the first page of the grant form. We will forward your description of the problem to the appropriate support person at Purina®.

We would appreciate of you could reply with a contact phone number so that we can speak with you further and determine how you might benefit from Purina's programs.

I look forward to speaking with you,

Hello. First thanks so much. The National Federation of the Blind is a tax exempt nonproffit organization which is why I ask the questions concerning donations in my previous email.

Secondly Blind people of necessity use screen readers I use window-eyes a voice screen reader manufactured by http://www.gw-micro.com.
When I atempted to fill out the form on the purina site it wouldn't let me put the check mark on charitable organizations so I couldn't get past the first page to request the grant. Also we initially are looking for small door prizes that would be of assistance for blind guide dog users but the guide dog affiliate does a lot of comunity Statewide and National education regarding the care, use, and also the legal rights and responsabilities of Guide dog users. From what I read on your site this is exactly the type of community project Purina might want to assist, but the form needs to be more accessible I think.
It may work better with jaws for windows manufactured by freedom scientific but I can't say that for sure it's probable that both screen readers will have the same accessability problems filling out your form which is why I ask if there is some one we could call and relay the information directly to them to fill it in properly.

        Thanks
        Michael Peterson

Someone completed the Contact Purina form on our Web site with the following information.

Web site: Purina® Pets For PeopleT
          Name: Michael Peterson
AWO Name: National Federation of the blind of California
          Comments:
Hello. I originally looked at the purina site and the charitable donations told me to come here. We are having a State convention and our guide dog division is hosting a special event where they will give away door prizes to be used to assist Guide dog users. It will be held on October 25-28 at the Arden Hilton, Sacramento CA and the event will among other things educate blind dog users in good dog grooming skills. We need things like small bags of dry food, dog toys, treats, dog grooming kits etc. Of course at some point the guide dog division might apply for a grant because they do educational seminars, in fact they are having one shortly in Carlsdad CA You can learn more about the national Federation of the Blind in general at http://www.nfb.org If you can helpwith the smaller prizes please advise. Also we are having problems so farwith the online form it's not letting us check charitable instead it stays on the third choice. Can the division president call someone and have them fill in the form if we can't get it to work properly withvoice screen readers? Thanks for your help. Respectfully: Michael D. PEterson
